The AMVETS Department of Illinois is proud to host The Wall That Heals. This exhibition, featuring a 250-foot replica of the original memorial in Washington, D.C., travels across America to major cities and small towns, addressing not only the loss but also the lives of more than 58,000 men and women whose names are inscribed on The Wallour parents, children, neighbors and friends. The Wall That Heals allows those heroes enshrined on the Memorial to return symbolically to the places they call home, to exist among friends and family once more in the comfort and peace of familiar surroundings. The Illinois AMVETS are honored to have this reflection of our nation's heroes at their state headquarters in Springfield, Illinois on May 17-20th, 2007.
